The Narcissistic Family: Diagnosis and Treatment  by Stephanie Donaldson-Pressman and Robert M. Pressman.  While billed as a book for therapists, The Narcissistic Family:  Diagnosis and Treatment is clearly written and accessible to non-professionals.  There are many case examples and little jargon.  An excellent choice for those wanting to learn more about the consequences of narcissism.

Woman's Inhumanity to Woman  by Phyllis Chesler, Thunder Mouth Press/Nation Books. A modern "Second Sex" that reveals much about how women interact amongst themselves, by a leading feminist. She talks of the Demetrian mother who resembles the narcissistic mother in many ways.

Narcissism: Denial of the true self. Alexander Lowen 1984 describes a gamut of narcissism, that goes from the mildest Phallic Narcissistic Character, to Narcissistic Character, to Borderline Personality, to Psychopathic Personality, to the worst, Paranoid Personality. The author admits he is a Phallic Narcissist.

Psychologist, Elan Golomb, interviews adult children of narcissistic parents and describes her own attempts to undo the damage from her childhood.

This is a brilliant book about the much needed know how of handling people at work who have NPD. A must for anyone who wants to take back their life and get ahead of NPD's.
